Upcoming litters for 2011

Glow and Xerxes litter for 2011

It has been a while!

Well, things have been so busy around here I see I have neglected the blog.

A few updates, Glow wrapped up her 2011 show career with a few Best of Breeds in Ohio.  Vullo is growing very nicely but, having a puppy around is more work than fun.  The good news is that eventually all the hard work will pay off, right?

Vullo went to puppy kindergarten at K9Jym in Colmar and oddly enough all the puppies in class were black.  He had tons of fun and lots of new experiences.  He also gets to go on a weekly doggie playdate with Glow and Sapphire to the DelPinto's to play with Lizzie and Tiny (English Mastiffs).

Both Vullo and Sapphire went to the Penn Vet Bloodmobile.  Sapphire contributed her blood for dogs in need and Vullo was tested to see if he had the universal blood type to donate.  Unfortunately, he did not have the correct blood type but, he was happy to meet at the people.

Now we are all relaxing around the house until our fabulous new kennel arrives in a few weeks.

The new addition!

We are very thankful to Roberto Giannuli from the dell Antiqua Apulia kennel in Bari, Italy for trusting us with one of the offspring of Godzilla x Alma de Finibus Terrae!

Vullo (as we will call him) is exceeding our expectations in type and temperament.  We could not be happier to add him to the PrideNJoyz family!  We are very excited to see how he will mature.

We will add photos to our website as he grows.  Thank you again,  Roby!

A weekend off

What a relief to have a weekend off of dog shows!  Somehow, it never seems to be a "weekend off".  Yesterday we drove out to Bangor, PA and tested Glow's herding abilities.  As the instructor noted, "she has spunk".  LOL

We are very proud of how Glow performed with no training on herding before the test.  For us, this shows how well rounded our Corsos are, being able to pass the multitude of tests that they have.

Starting out in Rally

We decided to try out Rally for the first time at one of the dog shows.  Glow performed great however, the handler, me,  missed one of the station signs so the test did not count.  We will try again and hope this time, I do not miss one of the signs.  LOL.  In order to receive a Rally title a dog and handler must pass the test three times under three different judges.  We are happy to work towards another title for Glow.

Glow's first show weekend out after her break was ok.  She did get one Best of Opposite in Freehold, NJ.

Just because...

An email I received today...
DOG FOR SALE

A guy is driving around the back woods of Montana
and he sees a sign in front of a broken down shanty-style
house: 'Talking Dog For Sale ' He rings the bell and the owner appears and tells him the dog is in the backyard.

The guy goes into the backyard and sees a nice looking Labrador retriever sitting there.

'You talk?' he asks.

'Yep,' the Lab replies.

After the guy recovers from the shock of hearing a dog talk, he says 'So,
 what's your story?'

The Lab looks up and says, 'Well, I discovered that I could talk when
I was pretty young..

I wanted to help the government, so I told the CIA.

In no time at all they had me jetting from country to country, sitting in
rooms with spies and world leaders, because no one figured a dog would be eavesdropping.'

'I was one of their most valuable spies for eight years running...

But the jetting around really tired me out, and I knew I wasn't getting
any younger so I decided to settle down. I signed up for a job at the airport to do some undercover security, wandering near suspicious characters and listening in. I uncovered some incredible dealings and was awarded a batch of medals.' 'I got married, had a mess of puppies, and now I'm just retired.'

The guy is amazed. He goes back in and asks the owner what he wants
for the dog.

'Ten dollars,' the guy says.

'Ten dollars? This dog is amazing! Why on earth are you selling him so cheap?'

'Because he's a liar. He never did any of that shit.

We had the pleasure of enjoyed a beautiful Mother's Day outside at the Trenton Kennel Club!  Hanging with friends and watching Aria get some need show practice was a lot of fun.

Glow is enjoying her time off, which may come to an end soon.  Unfortunately, the vet did not see any puppies so we will try again this winter.

First Cane Corso to WIN the WORKING GROUP in AKC

What a fantastic Halloween weekend!  Glow traveled to Leesburg, VA...
Best of Breed both days!

We are proud to annouce that Glow is the first Cane Corso to
win the Working Group in AKC!
A Group 1 Placement!

Photos with Susan Dodd from Cool Pets!

Glow and the rest of us finally had a weekend to rest.  I guess rest is relative.  Glow went to an equine farm and went swimming for some exercise on Saturday and Sunday.  We had a photo session on Saturday with a great photographer.  I think everyone (including me) is tired today.  :)

We are very excited to see the photos from our photo shoot.  A big thank you to Susan, she takes the most wonerful photos.

Here is a seek peak of her work.

A little relief at home and a Group 4

After a few days relief from the trip to California, Glow attended a one day show in Gettysburg, PA.  Once again she was awarded Best of Breed!  She was also awarded a Group 4 Placement in the Working Group!

Now for some rest before the last show weekend of the year for Glow.

Heading down to Perry, GA for the CCAA Regional and National shows!

For Glow's last round of dog shows before hopefully bringing some beautiful, healthy puppies into this world, she took a trip with Ashley to Perry, GA.  It was a difficult decision but, we always know that Glow is in the best hands with Ashley.

Well, the Glow and Ashley team didn't disappoint!

Thursday - AKC show Glow gets Best of Opposite against 37 Cane Corso entered!
Friday - CCAA Regional show Glow takes the Breed!  Up against 47 Cane Corso entered and around 15 other champions!
Saturday - CCAA National show and Glow takes Best of Opposite again (up against 47 Cane Corso entered)!!!!

So for a hopefully pregnant female and a handler who only showed two Corso that weekend, Ashley brought home 2 Winners Bitch with the other Corso, 2 Best of Opposite and 1 Best of Breed.  She is an excellent handler!

The trophy, ribbons and plaques are beautiful!  Special thank you to CCAA for presenting such nice awards!

A few shows in York, PA

So close to home so we decided to send Glow to the York, PA shows.  As usual, Glow and Ashley performed excellent.    Bringing home ribbons for 2 Best of Opposite and 2 Best of Breed!

We are also excited to announce that as of the end of March 2010, Glow is #1 Female Cane Corso and #2 Overall!

Sunday, March 13, 2011

Milton, NY dog show weekend

After Glow had some much needed time at home, we made a last minute decision to enter her in the Milton show in NY.  Glow missed Ashley and was happy to see her.  Ashley said she showed great and took Best of Breed all three show days and made the cut in group one day!

Upcoming Litter Spring/Summer 2011

We are very excited about the upcoming litter with Glow this Spring/Summer.  We will keep you posted as things progress!

#1 Grand Champion

We are excited to announce that as of today, Glow is the #1 AKC Grand Champion Cane Corso for the lifetime and the current year!

January 2011

My apologies for the delay in posting.

We are still working on moving the website over to www.pridenjoyzcanecorso.com.

We have decided on a stud for Glow and as soon as we recieved the official results from PennHIP, we will annouce the stud officially on the website.  We are very excited about this breeding!  The stud is a beautiful black male with nice bone and a solid temperament.

In show news, January has been a great month.  On short notice, we decided to send Glow down to Brooksville, FL.  Ashley and Glow performed wonderfully, as usual.  Glow came home with 4 Best of Breeds3 Best of Opposite and 2 Select. Due to poor weather conditions, one of the show days was cancelled.  Glow had a great time at a boar farm with Ashley while they were down in Florida.

Moving to a new website!

Just a quick note...

We are changing our web hosting and we will be elminating our duplicate website www.pride-joycanecorso.com in the new year.  Our new website, currently under construction, will be www.pridenjoyzcanecorso.com.  Until sometime in April 2011, both websites will be running but one may not be as complete.  Please be patient and have a Happy New Year!

A great weekend in Lehigh Valley, PA

Glow sweeps the weekend in Allentown, PA.  Bringing home Best of Breed 2x!

Now to enjoy the holidays and take a break from showing for a few weeks.  We want to wish everyone a ...
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Headed to CA for the AKC/Eukanuba dog show

A big thank you to Frontier Airlines for helping Glow arrive safely in California.  Glow arrived in California with a bang! Her first show after landing late on Wednesday night and she won Best of Breed on Thursday defeating 10 champions and 14 Cane Corso total!  She went on to the Working Group where the judge pulled her out of the group for the final cut!  We are very proud of her even though she didn't make the final 4, making the cut in a group with such amazing examples of the working group is definitely an accomplishment.  :D

At Thursday's show, Glow was awarded Select.

Unfortunately, we did not bring home the Best of Breed for the AKC/Eukanuba show but, to win a Best of Breed and make the cut for group one day is incredible!  We were happy to have been invited and been able to attend.  It was a wonderful event.

We had a pretty good few weekends in Ohio and Maryland.

"Every five years, starting in the year 2000, the elegance, glamour, style and high level of judging quality of Geraldine Rockefeller Dodge's original dog show held on her polo fields is brought back to life for a new generation. In its 1937 heyday, more than 50,000 dog-loving spectators descended upon sleepy Madison, New Jersey while 4,104 dogs were shown. In its 2005 incarnation, a total entry of 3,619 dogs were presented in 160 different breeds or varieties with Ch. Rocky Tops Sundance Kid garnering Best in Show honors. This year, more than 3,090 entries of the world's finest show dogs will be competing for the lofty title of Best in Show. "

We hope her success continues. :)

Canfield, Ohio shows

Glow had another fantastic weekend!  Glow took Best of Opposite 3x and Best of Breed on Saturday!

We drove to pick up Glow at the show on Sunday.  It was a great venue with many great vendors.
Unfortunately, it was about 90 degrees and an outside show.  We had the pleasure of meeting Clint and Karen Livingston who have been caring for Glow the last two weeks.  We also had the pleasure of meeting Glow's new handler, Ashley Cuzzolino.  Glow was very excited to see us and vice versa!  It was a long ride home due to construction on I-80 but, we had some good laughs.  We have very happy to have Glow home and hope we are able to continue her excellent show results at home.

Thank you to everyone who has made our dreams a reality!
